This is an update to a previous post. I've found the window key doens't seem to work at all. In a single key combination, the key should toggle the start menu. It doesn't. I've tried a number of delays. What is curious is there is a profile in which one command seems to work. I've created new profiles and the exact same configuration (1 key same delay etc). The only difference is the command in the gaming profile is the same as a basic command "Start Menu". Since it's in the gaming profile, I don't see a connection. In any case, that is the only time I've been able to get the "Window" key to do anything.

combinations with "window key" not working (no replies)

I've a profile that has a number of key combinations which work fine. Almost none of the key combinations with the "window key" seem to work. The only one that could be made to work was the single windows key toggle with a delay. This basically toggles the start menu.

I generated a new profile with a single command. The only key combination was a windows logo + m. This should minimize all open windows. If I tried it manually from the keyboard, it works fine. By the way, the taskbar showed the command was recognized.

I've tried it with various delays up to 2 seconds. In addition, I tried added a delay between the two keys.

There are a lot of window oriented key shortcuts which use the window key. Hopefully, I'm making some simple mistake.

The system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. The computer is a Dell labtop inspiron 1591 with 2GB and 500GB HD. I've not tried this on another computer so can't determine whether is hardware dependent.

I've done at least one uninstall and then install. The download was from the www.tazti.com website.

I've liked the software so far.

Tazti,

I recently installed Tazti on my new pc and noticed a bug every time I launch it. My microphone recording volume is reduced to 0 when Tazti starts up. It is not muting the mic, it's just moving the recording volume slider all the way to 0.

This results in Tazti not hearing my commands. Good news is the workaround is as simple as opening my Realtek HD audio manager and moving the recording volume slider back to a level that the mic will pick up.

Just wanted to call this to your attention. It's odd, it's a small inconvenience, but it's manageable.

I plan to buy Tazti for my Mom who is nearly blind, so she can listen to her preferred audio books, music or podcasts or call a friend on her PC with a simple voice command.

I looked at the built in speech recognition capability of Windows 7 and Dragon, but both are overly complex, as the PC just needs to understand some basic commands and reliably launch the desired MP3 file or PC command.

And since my Mom has a slight accent neither program was good at understanding her. I've had some success with Tazti however some commands like 'close' (to close active window) somehow has a poor recognition rate. In the current version there is no way to train the PC to better understand 'close' (with an accent), or to use another substitute like 'shut window' and I have not looked at the API option yet.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

PS I did find a way for skype CALLTO to work via a simple command file shown below (for win7 I had to put it in the program-file7skype/phone directory), where +41 is the country code, 22 is the area code and xxx xxxx is the number.

Hi,

I'm considering buying Tazti, but I was wondering if there is a limit on custom commands as the website seems to imply. Is there still a limit of 75 custom commands? If so, is there a reason for this? I can imagine that I would quite easily fill that list.

Is there any way to delete basic commands? Too many times now I've had Tazti close the game I was in because it thinks I'm saying "close", and I assume this triggers an alt+F4 command to close the active window. :(

I think it's somehow closing my game profile, and then listening for basic commands. I don't know how it thinks I say, "Stop Playing Bad Company 2", unless it just assumes when I'm talking on ventrillo that when I speak more than 1 or 2 words it must be "Stop Playing Bad Company 2".

I know I'm beating a dead horse, but this is just another reason why Tazti needs a Global key that acts as a push to mute mic function. Tazti needs to stop listening for commands when users need to speak freely.

Dear Tazti team,

I've been using Tazti now for a little over a month, and I love it 99%. I can honestly say I wouldn't have been able to play Deus Ex: Human Revolution without the aid of Tazti.

My only suggestion for Tazti would be to add a Global Push to Mute key to prevent accidental command execution. This would be a huge feature for Ventrillo users and for little interruptions when someone ask you questions.

Example: If someone enters my gaming area to ask a quick question, it would be so much easier to shortly press a mute key to speak freely than to speak "Stop Human Revolution", "Mute Computer Microphone", speak freely, then "Activate Computer Microphone", "Start Human Revolution". Quite a mouthful just to briefly speak.

The ability to make Tazti mute while you speak in Ventrilo by assigning a mute key to Tazti as the same key to push to talk in Vent would be awesome. It's been done before in other voice command programs with less features than Tazti, so I'm confident and hopeful you'll implement this in the future.

Key strings are not possible? (5 replies)

Hi,

I wasn't sure where to put this topic. My issue is with the lack of no key strings ability. Example, in the game Magicka you cast spells by typing a string of characters. Specifically the spell Raise Dead requires a string of Q,R,D,S,R.

I would like to be able to speak "Raise Dead" and have Tazti return a string of QRDSR, but I don't see a way to do it.

I've been using Say2Play currently as my voice command program, and it allows strings by separating keystrokes with a ";". However, lack of support & features, and a forums overrun by bot spammers has caused me to look for a better option.

Please inform me if Tazti can do multiple keystrokes per command, or if it will be implemented in the future.

Thanks,

Greetings all,

I just found tazti the other day, and am having great fun interfacing it with some race car games :)

So far it's a challenge just to keep the car on the track :)

I was wondering if there was a way to have the program use recorded speech (wav mp3 ... whatever) instead of ... or routed somehow to the microphone ?

I know Audacity, for example can record from different sources

Is Tazti, "hardwired" to only use the microphone ?

If it is, is there software for Win XP, to "route" the playback into the microphone, so that Tazti could then recognize it ?

Greetings,

I'm using the trial version and I must say, this program is brilliant.
The only issue I'm having is that if I open a program that uses a command line it will not work after I reboot or log off.
For instance, when opening Battlefield 2142 I use a command line for a custom resolution for fullscreen, 1280 X 1024.
"D:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +playNow 1 +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024"
This will work flawlessly untill I log off or reboot. Then it's no dice.
Using XP Pro, SP3.

Again, from one Buckeye to another, brilliant programming.

I just downloaded Tazti, and I love it. I see that the free version has paid features for some period of time, after which, the maximum amount of commands goes from 75 to 30. I think that 75 commands is FAR too low. I would buy the upgrade right now if the paid version had unlimited command space. If I have to pay for something I don't want to have a limit imposed on it. I don't know if there is a limit on anything else in the paid version, but I also would like/recommend removing that as well. I agree that putting restraints on "free versions" is a good way to make money, and I appreciate you making a "free version." I will never purchase the premium features if the 75 command limit is in place. If there is an actual reason for the limit I'd love to hear it. To end, I'll just say that if this quick fix is made I will buy the upgrade tomorrow, and so will half a dozen of my friends.

Some users who downloaded our most recent version of tazti in the past few weeks from our website www.tazti.com notified us that our late December 2010 edition on tazti.com has a bug in it that says "itunes is not installed" when the following 2 conditions occur together:

1. itunes is really not installed on your PC.
2. you turn tazti on and try to use certain categories of speech commands, which then do not respond except showing a "itunes not installed" error window and doing nothing else.

We've already fixed this bug. It's in test now. It will be released on Jan 2.

So if you've got this buggy version. Uninstall it and then download the update on Jan 2.

Thanks to all who caught this one.

Creating your own audio feedback using .VBS scripts (1 reply)

Now i'm not a scripting guru at all, but i figured some things out that i wanted to share.
I know there are more people here reading this forum that would like some audio feedback while using Tazti.
A way to do this, is to create a Visual Basic Script and have it start the desired program and trigger some form of audio feedback.
Now simply have Tazti start your .vbs file and presto, your computer talks back at you.

There are 2 ways that i found to get you audio feedback.
You can either use a small commandline based mediaplayer and have it play a sound file.
Or you can use windows Text To Speech function and have it say whatever you want.

The way of the mediaplayer definetly gives better sound, but you will have to make an audio file for each and every feedback you want to get.
Where as the TTS (Text To Speech) method is way more flexible.

For the mediaplayer i downloaded a little program called "wv player". Just google it, you're sure to find it.

I'll just provide you with the code to use here, so you can just copy and paste it into a file make the, i think, obvious adjustments and your done.

So for the WV_Player mediaplayer script:

Dim oShell
Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")
oShell.run "C:\Path\To\Program\Program.exe", 0, False
oShell.run "C:\Path\To\Mediaplayer\\wv_player.exe C:\Path\To\Mediafile\Audiofile.mp3", 0, False
Set oShell = Nothing

Copy and paste this into a texteditor and save the file as "MyFile.VBS"
Be carefull here that the extention is in fact .VBS, because notepad would save your file as "MyFile.VBS.txt" and this is not what you want, it won't work.

Now for the TTS way copy and paste this into a texteditor:

Dim oShell, Say
Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")
oShell.run "C:\Path\To\Program\Program.exe", 0, False

Say = "Look, i got my PC talking back at me"
Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
sapi.Speak Say

Set oShell = Nothing

Just change the text "Look, i got my PC talking back at me" into whatever you want your script to say.

Like i said, i'm not a scripting guru, but if you run into trouble i will try to help.
Maybe there are some other people reading this that are scripting guru's and have a better way of doing this or helping other people.
Please let us know, i'm always interrested in learning more.

I already ran into some trouble with a more advanced script using commandline arguments.
This works great with Tazti API feature. You can create scripts with options and use the API feature to determin what options to use.

At first this didn't work at all.
The script was work fine, Tazti was working fine. The only thing that wasn't working fine was Tazti and the Script together.
This was because of me NOT being a scripting guru.

Now scripts are in fact text files with pieces of code. Your computer sees it as text and this text needs to be understood/interpreted.
This is where the commandinterpreter comes in.
With a simple piece of code windows just automaticly knows what to do with it and redirects it to the commandinterpreter.
When it get's more difficult you need to call upon the commandinterpreter yourself and have it run your script.
The commandinterpreter is a program called cscript.exe and it's usually located in C:\WINDOWS\system32

With simple scripts you can just have Tazti run the .vbs file you created, but when this doesn't work you should have Tazti run it as:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\cscript.exe C:\Path\To\Myfile\Myfile.vbs

Now i'm not sure if anybody is interested in this, but it took me a long time to figure out and i'm proud that it works so i'm gonna bore you with it anyway. If you don't like, just stop reading :D
I created this script file to play my music . What it does is take in artist and albumname as commandline arguments it than starts Winamp and that plays the album i gave as the command argument and it than says: "Now playing music by (artist). From the album (albumname)"

So this is the code:

Dim ArgCount, ProCount, Arg, Say, oShell, Sapi

ArgCount = WScript.Arguments.count
Arg = ""
Say = "Now playing music by "

For ProCount = 1 to ArgCount
Arg = Arg + WScript.Arguments.Item(ProCount-1)
If WScript.Arguments.Item(ProCount-1) <> "-" Then
Say = Say + " " + WScript.Arguments.Item(ProCount-1)
Else
If WScript.Arguments.Item(ProCount-1) = "-" Then
Say = Say + ". from the Album, "
Else
Wscript.Echo "Usage: Music.vbs Artist - Albumname"
End If
End If
If ProCount < ArgCount Then
Arg = Arg + " "
Else
End If
Next

Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
sapi.Speak Say

Arg = """Y:\Muziek\CD Albums\" + Arg
Arg = Arg + """"

Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")
oShell.run "C:\Winamp\WinAmp.exe "&arg,0, False

Set oShell = Nothing
Wscript.Quit

The way i have Tazti start this file is using the API function, this starts the script and passes on the correct artist and albumname.
This is the way i start the file:
C:\Windows\System32\Cscript.exe E:\TaztiCommands\Music.vbs Artist - Albumname

Anyway, once again i hope this is usefull to at least 1 person and i hope it inspires to a whole lot of other ideas.

hi there, really wanna spark off a discussion about controlling winamp from the command line and therefore Tazti.
i cant see anything on here about it. my theory is that if i slug through it and write about it, then someone else wont have to.

im sure the itunes intigration is wonderful but itunes weighs like 70 meg and commandeers you music collection
whereas winamp is an angel and is light as a feather.

theres several programs out there for controlling winamp via the command line, the one im trying is Clever

it can be found here [www.winamp.com]

now the instructions provided are terrible, so for a complete novice like me, well,
ive been staring at it for the last week trying to make it work.

then i found this. i wanna kiss this guy cos it now works

[www.etcwiki.org]

i didnt get it the first time, i had to re-read it three times and now, finally, winamp is moving via the command line.

now i gotta figure out what to tell Tazti. i think i may have to learn how to use a bat file...

but, getting there!
